Illya Azaroff

Illya Azaroff, AIA, prin­ci­pal +LAB archi­tect PLLC and Assoc. Pro­fes­sor, New York City Col­lege of Tech­nol­o­gy (City Tech) is a Tech­ni­cal Advi­sor to ASPR, inform­ing the Nation­al Dis­as­ter Recov­ery Frame­work (NDFR), and works with HHS, DHS, FEMA, and the Region­al Cat­a­stroph­ic Plan­ning Team (RCPT). Illya has pre­vi­ous­ly worked with the City of New York, the Fed­er­al Alliance for Safe Hous­ing (FLASH), and Enter­prise Com­mu­ni­ty Part­ners on resilient hous­ing strate­gies. He also serves as a 100 Resilient Cities sub­ject mat­ter expert and as Nation­al Advo­ca­cy Direc­tor for the Young Archi­tects Forum. A found­ing co-chair of DfRR, Illya is a 2014 AIA Nation­al Young Archi­tect Award recip­i­ent, an instruc­tor with the Nation­al Dis­as­ter Train­ing Pre­pared­ness Cen­ter (NDTPC), and found­ing co-chair of the AIA Region­al Recov­ery Work­ing Group. He was recent­ly elect­ed to the AIA Nation­al Strate­gic Coun­cil, 2016–2019.
