Illya Azaroff, AIA, principal +LAB architect PLLC and Assoc. Professor, New York City College of Technology (City Tech) is a Technical Advisor to ASPR, informing the National Disaster Recovery Framework (NDFR), and works with HHS, DHS, FEMA, and the Regional Catastrophic Planning Team (RCPT). Illya has previously worked with the City of New York, the Federal Alliance for Safe Housing (FLASH), and Enterprise Community Partners on resilient housing strategies. He also serves as a 100 Resilient Cities subject matter expert and as National Advocacy Director for the Young Architects Forum. A founding co-chair of DfRR, Illya is a 2014 AIA National Young Architect Award recipient, an instructor with the National Disaster Training Preparedness Center (NDTPC), and founding co-chair of the AIA Regional Recovery Working Group. He was recently elected to the AIA National Strategic Council, 2016–2019.
