Lance Jay Brown

Lance Jay Brown, FAIA, DPACSA, is the prin­ci­pal of Lance Jay Brown Archi­tec­ture + Urban Design, a fel­low of the Amer­i­can Insti­tute of Archi­tects and the Insti­tute for Urban Design, and ACSA Dis­tin­guished Pro­fes­sor at the Spitzer School of Archi­tec­ture, where he served as Chair/Director. He is the Imme­di­ate Past Pres­i­dent of AIANY. He has edit­ed, writ­ten, and co-authored pub­li­ca­tions such as Urban Design for an Urban Cen­tu­ry (2009 and 2014); Beyond Zuc­cot­ti Park: Free­dom of Assem­bly and the Occu­pa­tion of Pub­lic Space (2012), and The Lega­cy Project: Via Verde (2015). He was award­ed the pres­ti­gious AIA/ACSA Topaz Medal­lion for Excel­lence in Archi­tec­tur­al Edu­ca­tion in 2007 and more recent­ly received local and nation­al awards for his Post-Sandy work. Lance teach­es, lec­tures, and con­sults nation­al­ly and inter­na­tion­al­ly.
